The
private collection of Vera Miller Francis Fulton shows a fascinating
look at the early works of Sam Francis as he began his career
as an artist. The collection features 14 paintings and drawings
dating from 1944 to 1949, which have not been publicly shown
in decades. Much of Sam’s art from the early years was
destroyed in a fire at his family’s home in Los Altos
in 1949. Paintings remaining from this period are rare. |
